This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
An autographed Aurele Joliat picture and Leo Bourgault’s signed 1922-23 Northern Ontario Hockey Association player certificate are featured in this hockey memorabilia lot. Joliat’s vintage black fountain pen signature is dedicated “To Leo, Regards, Aurele Joliat” on this vintage picture of himself in his Canadiens uniform with the 1929-30 World Champions patch on the left sleeve. Encased in a thin plastic sheet, this vintage picture cut out of a hockey program has three vertical creases and a period beer ad on the reverse. Bourgault’s black fountain pen signature appears at the bottom of his 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" 1922-23 NOHA playing certificate to play for the junior North Bay team. Details on the front and back are filled out in fountain pen with pencil notation on the right side margin. Bourgault is posed along with boxing legend Jack Dempsey in a vintage photo that measures a shade under 9” x 13” with the notation “Quebec, Nov. 24, 1937” handwritten in the bottom right corner. A modern print of this photo is also included. More vintage pictures of Bourgault featuring him in his 1934-35 Quebec Beavers uniform, include a 10x8 (plastified), and two roughly 8 1/2" x 6” pictures (one plastified) “Compliments de l’Hotel St-Roch”. Bourgault is pictured in suit, hat and winter coat on the far left of a 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" team photo with a “Photo Moderne, Quebec” stamp embossed in the bottom right corner. Rounding out the lot is a modern print of a copy of a signed Ching Johnson photo dedicated “To Leo, with best wishes, 1926” and a 1930 menu from New York’s Forrest Hotel with the members of the 1929-30 Rangers listed on the reverse.
