The surprise jersey number retirement ceremony for Emile “Butch” Bouchard and Elmer Lach was a highlight of the Habs’ centennial game on December 4, 2009. This great pair of extremely limited-edition Bouchard and Lach jersey retirement banners has been signed in gold paint pen by each of its respective Canadiens legends. The banners measure 47" x 20 1/2" and are identical in style to those suspended from the Bell Centre’s rafters. Each banner comes with an LOA signed by Bouchard and Lach, respectively, along with individual 4x6 photos of both HOFers holding similar signed banners at their autograph sessions. Bouchard signed his #3 banner along with the “3/20” limited-edition notation. Butch’s autograph is nice and bold and the limited-edition notation, while smudged, is clearly legible;
Lach signed both sides of his #16 banner, which has the “16/16” limited-edition notation alongside one of his autographs. Both Lach autographs feature his number “16” and “Dec 4 09”, the date of the jersey retirement ceremony.
