Rookie of the Year trophy is the annual award that was presented to the top prospect on the St. Louis Blues' Central Hockey League affiliate. Jaroslav Jirik (1969-70) claimed the award during the Kansas City Blues' first season followed by Gord Brooks (1970-71) and Murray Keogan (1971-72) for the team's three-season run. Their names are engraved on the plaque on the base of this 12 1/2" tall award that features a 9 1/2" tall cup atop a wood base, which has wear to its bottom edge. "Kansas City Blue Rookie of the Year, Presented in Memory of Robert L. Burger, by the K.C. Blues Booster Club" is engraved on the front of the cup, which has been nicely preserved.
