Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
A less-heralded Hockey Hall of Fame member, Jack Ruttan never played professionally, but was a legendary figure in his hometown Winnipeg where he starred on defence at the junior, college and senior levels. Ruttan helped Winnipeg to the Allan Cup in 1912-13 and after his playing days remained in hockey for many years, coaching and officiating. Elected to the Hall in 1962, Ruttan signed this page (approx. 4" x 6") from an autograph book just under a year before his death in 1973. "To Shelley with kindest regards" precedes his blue ballpoint signature, surely on the want lists of several autograph enthusiasts. Another signature (from someone else) appears on the other side. A letter of authenticity from Classic Auctions will be included.
