Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

Nice big, flowing blue ballpoint signature here is that of longtime Montreal Canadiens hard-rock defenceman Sylvio Mantha, captain of the Habs for six years (1926-32) and a contributor to nine first place finishes and three Stanley Cup titles. As a rookie in 1923-24, Mantha drank from Lord Stanley's bowl and then captained Montreal to back-to-back championships in '29-30 and '30-31. He added his "1924-1937" playing years and "Hall of Fame" to the approx. 4" by 6" page from an autograph book which includes a small pasted picture of the legend who was elected in 1960 and who died in 1974. Glued to a piece of black construction paper along the left edge, the page is autographed by former figure skater Karen Magnuson on the reverse, with a short note to a fellow skater. An LOA from Classic will be included with this neat piece.
