One of the first Swedish-born players to make his mark in North America, Inge Hammarstrom averaged 20 goals during his six-year tenure with the Maple Leafs and Blues, before returning home to finish out his pro career. This combo mesh-knit jersey looks to be from the 1979 World Championships in Moscow where Inge's four goals helped Sweden to a bronze medal. A "sportjohan" tag is in the collar, with the polar bears on the front/shoulders heat-pressed rubberized affairs and everything else screened-on. Good game use with red paint transfers, black marks and a nickel-size team repair on the right sleeve and a big 2" by 2" square repair on the left. Vertical lines at each end of "Polar Caravans" suggest a one-time nameplate or other sponsor patch.
