Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Hall of Fame players are featured in this lot of four sticks, which include a 1986 Dale Hawerchuk gamer and a Frank Mahovlich 1974 Canada-Russia Series game-issued twig. Hawerchuk's Sher-Wood game-used stick with Hawerchuk's original tape jobs was likely used in the 1986 world championships in Moscow, as per the shaft painted over in black and March 1986 factory date stamp. "Mahovlich" is stamped on the shaft of a CCM "Canada '74" stick that was done up for the Big M's use as a member of the WHA edition of Team Canada. Also included in this lot of sticks from our consignor in Russia are Ray Bourque and Cam Neely game-issued sticks. “Hawerchuk 10” is stamped on the front of the shaft of his Sher-Wood gamer, which has a red “06 Mars 1986” date stamp on the back. Hawerchuk's ribbed tape job on the knob is intact with its outer wrap of worn red tape. Solid gamer is crack-free aside from some chips at the toe and displays red goalpost paint transfer low on the shaft;
Mahovlich’s CCM game-issued stick from the 1974 Canada-Russia series has a few chips along the top edge of the blade and is otherwise solid;
“Bourque R. 77” is stamped on the shaft of the Hall of Fame defenseman’s black Sher-Wood PMP 7030 game-issued stick;
“Neely” is stamped on the shaft of Cam’s white Canadien 6001 game-issued stick.
