Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Great gathering of vintage mementos saved by a lucky fan who journeyed over to Moscow for the last four games of the 1972 Summit Series. Best is the pair of small pennants (measuring 6.5 inches from top to bottom). These are rarely seen and are believed to have been given in an exchange prior to games in Moscow. In excellent-plus condition, the pair gives the dates of the series at the bottom with the flags of Canada and Russia at the top and the team identifiers in English and Cyrillic. Also included are a one ruble Russian note, a receipt from the Travel Center for the cost of the trip ($637.00!) and a small pamphlet detailing travel tips from Air Canada. Two programs round out the lot: a common Official Home TV program in excellent shape and a very scarce 4-page foldout publication produced in Russia for the games on Soviet soil, with individual photos inside of each member of both the Canadian and Russian rosters (in excellent condition).
