Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Intriguing and coveted Summit Series items here are highlighted by official game programs from Canada (VG+) and Moscow (VG), the latter a four-page affair with a lineup insert page, along with a stub from Game 2 in Toronto which has multiple light creases, as does a scarce iron-on transfer from Red Rose Tea. Unique color snapshots (7) are from Team Canada's first practice in Moscow and include Orr on ice and signing an autograph, with Henderson, Cournoyer and the Mahovlich brothers also pictured. An "Official Home TV Program" and other goodies, further detailed on our website, complete the stash. A 40-page Team Canada special edition newspaper dated Saturday, September 2, 1972 and published by the Toronto Sun will provide interesting reading from prior to the eight-game series, with a “Twenty-seven days in September” soft cover VG book recapping the epic confrontation. A Go Canada! postcard, a circular Go Team Canada! decal, a 33-1/3 record in French recapping the series, a postcard of a Moscow landmark autographed on the back by Jean Beliveau and a Russian sight-seeing booklet round things out.
