Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Pair of early goalie masks come in their original boxes from D.G. Louch of St. Mary's, Ontario. These crude yet innovative 1950s plexiglass shields are offered here in both the full-face version as well as a half-sized one which somewhat resembles visors worn by modern players. Both are complete and whole with their original padding and straps intact. Louch mask instruction sheets are included in their respective boxes along with the ones affixed to the inside lid and a bottle of Louch mask cleaning solution is also included. Amazing examples of the mask that led to Jacques Plante's great, and likely life-saving, goalie equipment innovation.
