Swell pair of seldom-seen hockey gloves date back to when "The Big Train," Lionel Conacher was forging his legend as one of biggest-time all-around athletes of his era. A big 6'2" defenceman, he made his NHL debut with Pittsburgh in 1925-26, spent the rest of the 1920s with the N.Y. Americans and most of the ?30s with the Montreal Maroons. His image and "Equipment Approved by Lionel Conacher" are on nifty red and cream-colored labels, still present on the cuffs of each of these all-leather gloves, with his facsimile autograph showing up nicely nearby. A hole in the thumb and a couple of small ones in the fingers of the left are to note, but overall, these have survived in great shape.
