Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Vintage and original team photo montage of the 1929-30 Calgary Canadians was presented by the team to Hall of Fame forward Dave "Sweeney" Schriner. Led by Schriner and fellow future NHLer Lorne Carr, the Canadians competed for the Memorial Cup in 1930. Schriner, whose last name is misspelled "Shriner", and Carr are pictured on the right side of the panoramic 6 1/2" x 15 3/4" studio photograph. This remarkable team photo features "Calgary Canadians, Champions of Alberta and B.C." on a banner across the top of the studio montage with "1929" and "1930" below. Mounted on its original 10" x 19" matte cardboard backing, the team photo also displays the Canadians' hardware from the season, both the Albertan and Sandercock Cups. Obtained directly from the Schriner family, this treasured hockey photo comes along with a letter of authenticity.
