Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

Storied style is a rare first year Vancouver Canucks jersey, worn by the team throughout their inaugural year and the following season and then recycled much later for use by the team's Alumni squad. Tagged in the tail by General Athletic, the white durene jersey has the original Canucks stick logo crest sewn on the front. When the team recycled the shirt to be used as an Alumni jersey they screened "Molson" across the front, added a Molson's patch sewn on the right shoulder (now removed) and threw a nameplate on the back (now removed). Tough to determine whether this one is from 1970-71 or 1971-72, as the Canucks removed the numbers and sleeve "V" and then screened them back on. First year-style Canucks jerseys very seldom surface in any form and this particular number, although not retired, has been taken out of circulation by the team to honor Wayne Maki.
