Glorious Minnesota North Stars gamer from the 1976-77 season was worn by travelling goalie Gary "Suitcase" Smith. Smith, who shared the Vezina trophy with Tony Esposito while with the Hawks in the early Seventies, saw duties with no less than seven NHL teams and a number of WHA and minor league franchises over his career, earning him his nickname. The creamy V-neck knit beauty has he proper Rawlings label sewn into the neck with size 50 indicated in white stitch. A peek inside reveals a fight strap loop sewn midway up the back of the jersey. Green-and-yellow twill is featured in the North Stars logo sewn on the front and the #35 sewn on the back and both sleeves. The letters spelling out Gary's surname is sewn onto a cream knit plate above the back numerals and appear to be original to the shirt. Light staining in two areas on the front are visible along with another pair of darker rust-colored stains near the neck. A few washed out black marks appear on the right cuff to sum up the tale of the game wear. A darling defunct style.
