Veteran NHL defenseman Jim Kyte wore this Las Vegas Thunder captain’s gamer during the 1993-94 International Hockey League season. Kyte, the first legally deaf player in NHL history, spent his first seven seasons with the old Winnipeg Jets. He also played for Pitttsburgh, Calgary, Ottawa and San Jose, amassing 1,342 penalty minutes in 598 NHL games. Kyte was in the Senators’ organization when he spent the 1993-94 season in the minors with the IHL Thunder. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound defenseman racked up 246 penalty minutes with a Las Vegas lineup that featured 17-year-old phenom Radek Bonk, who Ottawa went on to select third overall in the 1994 NHL draft. Black mesh Thunder game-worn jersey has the IHL patch sewn on the right breast and the captain’s C on the left breast. Thunder crest sewn on the front features aqua, black, silver and white twill. Battle-tested fight strap is whole and intact. Bauer and IHL logos are embroidered on the right rear tail. Solid game wear includes fight damage to the collar, red paint transfer on the white band of the right sleeve, a diagonal board burn on the aqua twill of the “6” on the back and unrepaired damage to the left edge of the number’s stitching. Comes with an LOA.
