Ottawa Senators goalie Mike Brodeur wore this AHL Rochester Americans gamer during the 2008-09 season. Drafted by the Black Hawks in 2003, Brodeur signed with Ottawa in the summer of 2009 after going 18-13-4 with two shutouts in 38 games with the Americans in 2008-09 while maintaining a 2.45 goals-against-average and a .921 save percentage. Brodeur won his NHL debut with the Senators on December 19, 2009 and went 3-1 in seven games with Ottawa over parts of two seasons before hip surgery sidelined him for most of the 2011-12 season. Brodeur’s #29 Americans game-worn jersey from the team’s first half of the 2008-09 AHL season has Reebok tagging in the neck along with “Goalie Style” and size 58 flag tags. Patriotic Amerks team crest is sewn on the front along with a Toyota sponsor’s patch on the right breast. Numbers on the back and both sleeves, stars on both shoulders, and surname letters on a white nameplate are all sewn-on blue and red double twill. AHL and Reebok patches are sewn on the rear tail and MeiGray patch is sewn inside the rear tail. Fight strap is whole and complete and a laundry instruction flag tag remains sewn inside the left seam. Clearly everything was hitting Brodeur during the 2008-09 AHL season as evidenced by the puck marks galore on the front of the jersey and the front of the sleeves. Nice red goalpost paint transfer around the “2” on the back. MeiGray LOA included with this game-worn jersey states that it is was worn during the first half of the season.
