The two greatest teams of the1950's, the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens, faced off in the 1955 Stanley Cup Finals for the third time in four years, but Montreal were without their captain, Maurice Richard, after his suspension late in the regular season (leading to the infamous "Richard Riot), and it would prove the difference in a seven game Red Wing Cup triumph, their last for the next 42 years. The offered program and ticket stub, both in sharp Ex+ condition, are from Game 2 at the Detroit Olympia, played April 5, 1955. The Wings, having won Game 1, destroyed the Canadiens 7-1 on this night, led by Ted Lindsay's record setting four goal performance. Both Lindsay and his linemate Gordie Howe would also go on to break the record set by Toe Blake for points in the playoffs, with 19 and 20 respectively in just 11 games.
