Vintage program for Game #2 of the 1936 Stanley Cup Finals between the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs, played April 7th of that year at the Detroit Olympia. The hometown Red Wings, who finished first overall in the regular season, would blitz the Leafs with nine goals to take the game 9-4 and gain a commanding 2-0 lead in the best of five series. They would go on to win their first ever Stanley Cup four nights later in Toronto, led by future Hall of Famers Ebbie Goodfellow on defense and Syd Howe, Marty Barry and Herbie Lewis up front. The nine goals scored in this game set a record that still stands 76 years later for the most by one team in one game of the Finals. Despite its age, the program is in crisp Vg/Ex condition, with a little wear to one edge of its centerfold. Inside are full page photos of Hap Day, Jack Adams and Conn Smythe, plus a Red Wings team photo.
