The 1930-31 Stanley Cup Finals matched the defending Cup champion Montreal Canadiens, led by Hart Trophy winner Howie Morenz, against the Chicago Black Hawks and their star goaltender, Charlie Gardiner. This was the first ever appearance for Chicago in the finals, and just the seventh for Montreal. Here is a complete program for the deciding fifth game of that series, played April 14, 1931 at the Montreal Forum. Before a boisterous sellout crowd, Johnny Gagnon finally broke a scoreless duel between Gardiner and the Canadiens' George Hainsworth in the second period, and Morenz added a goal in the third to give the Habs a 2-0 win and their second straight Stanley Cup, a feat accomplished to that point only once before in the NHL. The program features an image of Montreal's "Little Giant", Aurele Joliat, on its front cover, and is in VG condition, with handling wear to its covers and spine.
