The illustrious career of goaltending great Terry Sawchuk came to a tragic end soon after the 1969-70 season, when a scuffle with New York Rangers teammate Ron Stewart resulted in internal injuries that led to his death at the young age of 40. Considered among the very best at his position in hockey history, Sawchuk finished with 447 wins and 103 shutouts, both NHL records at the time, and was posthumously elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1971. 1969-70 was his only year with the Rangers, and he appeared in just eight games, making his autograph from that season particularly scarce. Offered here is a complete, 72 page Ex condition Madison Square Garden program from the 1968-69 season that has been autographed on its cover by virtually the entire 1969-70 New York team, led by Sawchuk's sharp signature in the center. 17 autographs in total include the "GAG" line of Vic Hadfield and HOF'ers Rod Gilbert and Jean Ratelle; plus Stewart, Emile Francis, Ed Giacomin, Balon, Tkaczuk, Fairbairn, Nevin, Kurtenbach, Marshall, Brown, Seiling, Widing and Lemieux.
