Scarce program from the Chicago Black Hawks' third NHL season, and the final game in the team's original home, the Coliseum. Because their lease was up and Chicago Stadium was not yet ready, the team was forced to play its remaining scheduled home games on the road in various cities. In this final appearance of the season before their home fans, January 20, 1929, Chicago was beaten 2-0 by the powerful Boston Bruins, who two months later would win their first Stanley Cup. The Black Hawks were led by their star goaltender, the ill-fated Charlie Gardiner, who is featured on the program cover, and player-coach Dick Irvin. The program is complete and in Vg/Ex condition, with light overall wear, rusty staples, and some staining on the back cover.
