Ultra-rare program from the opening game of the Boston Bruins' third NHL season, played November 16, 1926 at the Boston Arena vs. Howie Morenz and the Montreal Canadiens. Making their first NHL appearances on this historic night were future Hall of Famers Eddie Shore and Harry Oliver, for the Bruins, and goalie George Hainsworth, for the Habs. Shore, a future four-time Hart Trophy winner now considered among the greatest defensemen to ever play the game, would draw rave reviews for his debut in a 4-1 Bruins win. And though beaten on this night, Hainsworth would go on to establish a new NHL high for shutouts in a season with 22 in 1928-29, still the record over 80 years later. The program is complete and in solid VG condition.
