Long-time NHL linesman Wayne Bonney paid his dues by working some 700 WHA games during the 1970s. One of a handful of on-ice officials from the rebel league to find work in the NHL after the 1979 merger, Bonney went on to call 1,685 regular season games and another 134 playoff games during a 25-year NHL career. Prior to that, Bonney wore this black-and-white linesman's jersey during his seven-year stint in the WHA. A superb tri-colour chenille WHA crest sits on the left breast of the zebra-style jersey, which Bonney had mounted in a framed display. The 29" x 24" black frame with a "World Hockey Assoc. 1972-1979" plaque includes the two linesman's numbers Bonney wore in the rebel league, either of which could easily be restored to the back of the jersey. Gerry Cosby tagging remains in the back of the neck of this zip-front collared WHA treasure. Really nicely preserved with game use showing in a small mark to the right of the chenille crest and a dried bloodstain spot below it. Comes with Wayne Bonney's signed LOA.
