Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Interesting batch of Crown Brand photos is more so than most that we handle, for it includes the scarce photo of King Clancy, pictured with the Montreal Maroons, as well as that of The Canadien Team of Father Leveque's Peewee Hockey Club. The former has a pinhole in the beige backing but is otherwise EX, while the latter is VG. We count two dozen individual photos with a similar pinhole at the top, while the backings of five team photos have been trimmed. Included are the 1934-35 and '37-38 Maroons, '36-37 and '37-38 Canadiens and '36 Canadian Olympic Team. Other notables include Joliat, Blake, Bailey (2), Siebert and Barry, with a dozen photos needing to be re-glued to their rather nice condition mats, while some other backings have been trimmed. A gambit of conditions overall, with an original letter from The Canada Starch Company adding to the booty.
