Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

What a thrill to hold and behold is this absolutely perfect example from the O-Pee-Chee company's 1939-40 hockey card effort, the smooth, smooth edges and sharp, sharp corners of Gordie Drillon's card #4 prompting us to utter "Whoa!" SGC has given the 5" by 7" affair a well merited grade of MINT 9, placing it as the undisputed champion of highest ever graded. It's the highest of three examples on the SGC charts, with the best of six over at PSA coming in at EX-MT 6. Drillon had won the NHL scoring title two years earlier, totalled close to a point a game in his seven years with Toronto and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1975. Superb!
