Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
One of the coveted keys of the very first hockey card set here features the image of Lester Patrick, one of our sport's grandest figures. As a player, Patrick was one of the top rushing defensemen of his era, as well as a team leader, and went on to become an inspirational coach and a highly-respected team administrator. Depicted in his Renfrew turtleneck sweater, Patrick had previously led the Montreal Wanderers to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, with this example of card #26 graded VG 3 by PSA due to a light horizontal side-to-side crease through the middle. Fine chance to score the RC of the head of hockey's "Royal Family."
