Mark Messier's game-used stick dates from his emergence as one of hockey's greatest leaders in the early-1990s. Moose claimed the Hart Trophy in 1990 after he captained the Oilers to a post-Gretzky Stanley Cup win. He repeated as the NHL's MVP with the New York Rangers in 1992, two years before delivering the Blueshirts' first championship since 1940. "Messier" is stamped on the shaft of his Louisville TPS wood wand that retains his distinctive black tape handle. The blade still has Messier's original black bulldog tape, which has a nice gash on the lower edge, surely the result of a wicked backhand. Great game use here makes this an outstanding display piece from a two-time MVP and six-time Stanley Cup champ.
