The 1981 Canada Cup tournament was an exciting series with games held in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal and Ottawa. Oilers official team photographer Bob Mummery (an early memorabilia collector) had just initiated a program where actual goal pucks were saved and teamed up with one of his photographs capturing the moment to create astonishing mementos capturing the moment. The 1981 Canada Cup proved a fertile testing ground for the endeavor and the project continued on throughout the Oilers regular season as well. This wonderful display captures a goal scored by Wayne Gretzky during the 1981 Canada Cup tournament and the actual goal puck has been sliced into two portions and matted below a signed photograph of the goal's celebrating as Gretzky and Guy Lafleur, who assisted on the marker, meet behind the net of goaltender Vladislav Tretiak. All three have signed the vintage 8x10" picture. The puck itself is an official CCM gamer from the tournament and a plate on the glass below gives the details and lists the scorer as Wayne Gretzky. Professional framed and matted to a size of 16x20", this impressive display will come with a detailed letter of authenticity.
