Captivating and memory-provoking miniature Stanley Cup recalls the Edmonton Oilers' return to hockey's pinnacle and their third Cup title in four years. After being eliminated the previous spring by Calgary, the Oilers racked up a league-high 50 regular season wins and 106 points in 1986-87 as Wayne Gretzky claimed his seventh straight scoring championship, with Jari Kurri and Mark Messier also reaching the 100-point plateau. Come playoff time, the three, along with Glenn Anderson, again led offensively as Edmonton took care of Los Angeles (4-1), Winnipeg (4-0) and Detroit (4-1), before edging Philadelphia in the first seven-game final in 16 years. Kurri's goal with five minutes to go in the second period of game seven proved to be the Cup-winner in the Oilers 3-1 clincher, once again (like in '84 and '85) in front of delirious hometown fans. Gretzky, Kurri, Messier and teammates names are engraved along with those of the team's executives and the coaches. Rich brown felt covers the wood base which has a Boffey sticker. This beautiful example displays light scuffing and very minor surface scratches on its surface as well as minimal silver loss along the lip of the bowl and on a few other areas. This unawarded example, produced by Boffey, is identical to those awarded to each member of the victorious Edmonton Oilers by the National Hockey League.
