Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Considered to be the loudest and most exciting of the grand old buildings that housed teams from the Original Six era, Chicago Stadium is dearly missed by all who witnessed a game beneath her rafters. Offered is a vintage and original set of plates, each with an image of Chicago Stadium, issued in 1929 to commemorate the opening of the arena. Three of the porcelain plates measure 4 inches across with three larger ones measuring 5 inches in diameter. All are in excellent shape and have "made in Germany" markings on the back. Also included in the collection are six redeemed (hole punched) Chicago Stadium bonds from 1930, each measuring a little over 1 inch by 3.5 inches and preserved in varying conditions (one has slight paper loss at the top).
