Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Perfect photo-matched mid-to-late 1970s gamer worn by Bob Murray while with the Chicago Black Hawks. Murray joined up with the Hawks in 1975-76 and would go on to become a regular, skating in 16 seasons with the club. The creamy durene knit has a vintage Wilson tag sewn into the back of the neck and a cut-off fight strap sewn inside. With evidence of a nameplate removal, this shirt might have been worn during televised games or later in the decade when the league mandated the use of name bars on all jerseys. Game wear is easy to spot with areas of board paint transfer, numerous stick marks, good interior pilling, a few smaller unrepaired holes and no less than 6 team repairs. Photo-match is to specific details on the crest including the yellow line in the red feather, the left yellow line in the green feather going inwards (not straight) and a number of other features specific to that crest. A digital image of the photo used to make the match will accompany the lot.
