Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
The three Larry Murphy Red Wings items in this lot were all originally obtained from Hockeytown Authentics. Featured in this lot dating from Murphy's very successful stint in the Motor City are a pair of the HOF defenseman's CCM Tacks game-worn skates, which have the HA price tag attached. Also included are Murphy's CCM game-used stick and a Murphy signed Red Wings goal puck, both of which have HA hologram stickers affixed to them in addition to their HA price tags. A faint “Murphy” stamp can be made out on the front of the shaft of Murphy’s CCM 1052 game-used stick. His black tape knob with worn white tape wrapped around it is intact, as is Murphy’s black tape job on the blade. The bottom of the back of the shaft is cracked though it does not diminish this otherwise solid gamer’s display. Hockeytown Authentics hologram and price tag stickers are high on the shaft.
Larry’s CCM Tacks 1052 skates have his number “55” written in small numbers on the bottom of the white plastic undersole along with “DRW” and the separate notation “K.D.1.5.22” on both skates. The Hockeytown Authentics price tag sticker is on the left skate’s outside edge of the heel of the white plastic blade support.
Murphy signed in silver paint pen at the top of the face of a Red Wings NHL official game puck. “Detroit v Dallas, Oct. 5, 1999, 1st Goal 55 – Murphy, Assist – 5 – Lidstrom 91- Fedorov, 13:48 – 2nd period, power play goal” is written in black ink on a wide band of white hockey tape place across the Red Wings logo on the face. Hockeytown Authentics hologram and price tag stickers are on the edge of the signed goal puck.
