Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Cool junior hockey keepsake brings forth the story of how NHL Detroit sponsored a junior squad which competed, in 1962-63, in the Border Cities Hockey League, with Detroit, Windsor, Chatham, Dresden, Leamington and Wallaceburg making the playoffs. Junior Wings chose rings over jackets to commemorate their year when given the choice at season's end, with this golden memento presented to goalie Tom Gillespie, pictured at the far right of the first row in our digital photo. The gold Red Wings logo is anchored to red colored glass, while "10K" appears on the interior of the size 7 band. Visible wear to the logo is to mention, along with scratches and small dents, more evident upon magnification. Swell 50-year old relic!
