The flowing-haired Montreal Canadiens forward Guy Lafleur "retired" for the first time less than two months into the 1984-85 schedule. He played his 19th and final game of the season against Detroit on November 24th but this jersey, part of the second set issued that season, has an "85 01" born on date tag behind Maska tag. By January, Guy was no longer a Hab. Tagged by CCM in the collar, the crisp label has "50" in ballpoint denoting the sizing. The nameplate lettering, numbering and cresting is identical in font style, size and coloring when compared to another from the same season we have sold. A dark mark on the front and a couple of smaller stains have accumulated over the decades but this should launder out. An attractive and affordable game-issued option to a pricey game-worn from the 500-goal member of the Hall of Fame.
