Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2012
Featuring several young men who would go on to star in professional hockey, the 1968-69 Montreal Junior Canadiens claimed their first of two consecutive national championships in the spring of '69, defeating the Regina Pats in four consecutive games. This trophy was originally presented to one Al Colison who worked for the Montreal Canadiens and Jr. Canadiens in the '60s and '70s. A replica of the top of the Memorial Cup and two figural hockey players stand atop a glass-covered, heavy 4" by 13" wooden base which features a nifty plaque including the engraved names of the champions. Familiar are captain and team scoring leader Rejean Houle, Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin, Marc Tardif, Bob Guindon, Guy Charron, Andre Dupont, Jocelyn Guevremont and J.P. Bordeleau. Cleanable tarnish covers the trophy and plaque but the golden/purplish hue is, like this team, special! With LOA.
