Spellbinding Jacques Plante game-used stick is signed by members of the 1955-56 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens! Jake the Snake and fellow deceased greats Harvey and Geoffrion have signed. Beliveau, Henri Richard and Moore make a total of six HOFers among the 13 clearly legible Habs autographs grouped on one side of the shaft, which retains Jacques' black tape knob and displays red goal post marks along with the "Plante" stamp. The stick was purchased in Plante's hometown of Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, where it was originally on display in one of his brothers' businesses. "Souvenir du Canadiens 1955-56 pour Coupe Stanley" is handwritten in red on the other side of the shaft. Jacques' black tape job is intact on the blade though some rows were removed, as was the tape job on the paddle which has one hole through the middle. Vintage Maurice Richard and Red Storey autographs are among the other signatures on the paddle and heel. Various cracks on the blade and paddle from game use and aging do not diminish this hockey treasure's display! Beginning on the upper shaft, the Canadiens who have signed the stick are in order, Dollard St-Laurent, Doug Harvey, Jacques Plante, Henri Richard, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Bob Turner, Jean Beliveau, Bud MacPherson, Don Marshall, Ken Mosdell, Dickie Moore, Floyd Curry and Jean-Guy Talbot.
The Andre Pronovost autograph on the paddle is a recent signature obtained by the consignor. The paddle also seem to be signed by players from the old Quebec Hockey League (1953-59), it includes Roger Dubuc (Shawinigan-Falls Cataracts), John Hanna (Chicoutimi Sagueneens), QHL coach Jacques Toupin. These autographs, a number of which are pale, were most likely added on.
