Bold vivid colors and dandy centering strike the beholder of this card of "Black Jack" Stewart, a solid defenceman who was in his last NHL season in 1951-52. Known for his punishing bodychecks, Stewart is said to have gotten his "Black Jack" nickname after one of his dazed victims skated back to the bench asking who hit him with a black jack. The previous decade with the Red Wings included two Stanley Cup titles and three NHL First All-Star Team selections. Encapsulated and earning lofty NM-MT+ 8.5 recognition from PSA, this example of card #53 is edged only by five 9s on the PSA Population Report, with 113 total submissions.
