Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

Art Coulter, a defenceman who split his decade in the NHL between the Black Hawks and Rangers, joins Lynn Patrick as the only Hall-of-Famers to have their rookie cards appear in O-Pee-Chee’s rather elusive 1935-36 set of 36. The back informed kids back in the day, “He is one of the best players on the team.” Coulter was traded to New York for another star, Earl Seibert, became team captain and helped the Rangers to the Stanley Cup in ’39-40. This example of card #93 has corner/edge wear and a crease in each of the upper corners, and is thus slabbed VG 3 by PSA.
