Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

Scarcer than other O-Pee-Chee cards from the era, as evidenced by totals on the PSA Population Report, the 1935-36 OPCs understandably garner considerable interest from serious hobbyists, with the Lynn Patrick card one of only two rookie cards in the 36-card ensemble featuring a Hall-of-Famer. Lester's son was in his sophomore NHL season when this card #79 was issued, it's purplish background fun to behold while contemplating its desirable EX-MT 6 grade. One of only three 6s on the PSA chart, with just a couple of NM 7s and one NM-MT 8 ahead of them, and that out of 19 total Patrick RC submissions. Lynn helped the Rangers to the Stanley Cup in 1939-40, led the team in scoring four times and was tops in the NHL in goals with 32 in '41-42.
