Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

Ralph “Cooney” Weiland had already set the NHL single season scoring record with 73 points and won a Stanley Cup with Boston, both in 1929-30, when he appeared with Ottawa on his ’33-34 O-Pee-Chee rookie card. He was sent to Detroit after just nine games that season though and later concluded his 11-year NHL career back in Boston, before a long tenure as coach at Harvard. “Knows his hockey and packs a wicked shot” is how he is described on the back of his RC, with this crease-free example exhibiting edge/corner wear and graded VG-EX 4 by the experts at PSA.
