Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

The legendary Frank "King" Clancy was in the process of forging his legend and was a reigning Stanley Cup champion, in his third season with his hometown Ottawa Senators, when he first appeared on a hockey card. Card #3 of William Paterson's 1923-24 issue, thanks to Francis, went on to become one of the most important and coveted of the set. Clancy meanwhile would go on to total nine seasons with the Senators, before spending most of the rest of his hockey life with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Examined, encapsulated and labeled VG-EX 4 by PSA, this example of King's rookie card joins five others at PSA 4, with eight of 29 submissions ranking higher.
