Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

Card #2 in Imperial Tobacco’s second hockey card effort pictures Joe Hall in the striped sweater of the Quebec Bulldogs, a team he helped to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships a century ago (1911-12 & ’12-13). Earning the nicknames of Mean Joe and Bad Joe because of his rough, vicious play, the defenceman, then a member of the Canadiens, died shortly after the 1919 Cup finals were cancelled because of an influenza epidemic, the Canadiens and Seattle Metropolitans not being able to decide the Cup champion. Thought-provoking to hold and behold, this example joins 14 others on the PSA Population Report at VG-EX 4 and is worthy of your big-time C55 stash.
