Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
The origin of this silver screen New York Rangers jersey is no mystery, even in Alaska! All groans aside, this white mesh Rangers jersey was worn during the filming of “Mystery, Alaska”, the 1999 Hollywood feature starring Russell Crowe and Burt Reynolds. HOFer Phil Esposito evens puts in an appearance in writer David E. Kelley’s comedy about an amateur team that plays a challenge game against the Broadway Blueshirts. “Rangers” and number “38” on the back and both sleeves are blue-and-red double twill sewn-on in drop-shadow style. Individual surname letters were removed from this game-weight jersey, which has “Starter” and size “54-R” tagging in the neck and professional piping. A laundry instruction fly tag is sewn inside the left seam and the fight strap is intact. Comes with an LOA from Sports Robe.
