Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
These swell keepsakes from the pre-NHL career of former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Gerry McNeil date back to 1945-46 when McNeil led the Quebec Senior Hockey League with a 3.35 GAA and helped his Montreal Royals to the championship. A nice QAHA blue and red logo adorns the medal McNeil was presented with, while "Sr. Prov. Champ. 1945-46" is engraved on the back, where "Birks - Sterling" also appears. Gold-filled cuff links have McNeil's G.G. McN. initials, while a tie clip/pendant from the Cincinnati Mohawks Booster Club has a charm inscribed "C.M.B.C. G. McNeil '49-50". A golden money clip from the Montreal Royals' 25th anniversary reunion of the '46-47 Allan Cup champions completes the collection.
