Superb 105-year-old hockey team photo pictures a fascinating studio pose of the 1906-07 Simcoe Junior O.H.A. club. Strikingly detailed, this 12” x 16 1/4” print from “Rosevear, Toronto” photo studio is displayed on a 17 1/4" x 20 1/2" cardboard-backed matte with “The Simcoe Hockey Club, 1906-7, Junior O.H.A. Team” printed along the bottom along with names of the team’s members. Sharp focus of this team pose displays fine details such as skate laces, cracks on the stick blade and ribbing on the wool knit hockey socks and sweaters, which display team crests on the front that almost appear three-dimensional! A 6 1/2" horizontal tear in the upper left corner of the matte runs through the bottom of the head of player Baillie on the far left of the back row and another 3” rip extends across the throat of Jardine in the middle of the back row. Otherwise this early 20th century hockey team photo remains a stunning display piece from the early days of the game and comes along with its loose 21 3/4" x 25” wood frame.
