Paul Coffey ran up the stats in 1985-86, scoring an incredible, career-high 138 points. He set the National Hockey League record for goals by a defenseman (previously held by Bobby Orr with 46), finishing the regular season with 48 goals. The record still stands to this day! Fantastic photo-matched uniform, worn by Hall-of-Fame defenseman Paul Coffey as a member of the Edmonton Oilers during the 1985-86 season. Blue Nike mesh, tagged in the collar in size "L" on a blue Nike label. Obvious game wear throughout includes four stitched team repairs and the orange oil drop has been replaced (by the team) on the original photo-matched crest. This solid shirt has been photo-matched to five distinct characteristics including two repairs at collar. All-original with tri-color number 7 on the back and sleeves and "Coffey" running across the mesh namebar. This jersey was part of the noted Wexler Collection of game worn uniforms purchased directly from Peter Pocklington and the Edmonton Oilers. The jerseys were first marketed into the hobby by Milt Byron of Byron's Hockeyland and later offered by another well known firm. This example was purchased from Byron's back in January of 1999, according to the accompanying Letter of Authenticity from Byron's Hockeyland. Also included, an 8x11 photo image of Coffey wearing this exact jersey and a CD-R with high-resolution digital images of the photo match.
