Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Extremely scarce style of WHA jersey was worn towards the end of Chicago Cougars' final season in 1974-75. Gold mesh Cougars gamer with a Champion size 46 flag tag in the neck and distinctive garter-style fight strap was donned by right winger Mark Lomenda, who contributed 16 goals and 49 points in his lone season with the team. Everything is screened-on here, including the team crest, numbers and green-and-white striping on the waist, sleeves and shoulders. Nice game use includes an elaborate team repair near the right elbow, another on the lower back close to a chevron-shaped slice that went unrepaired, some red paint transfer on the back and a couple of small marks on the right sleeve. Shoulder striping is nice with some cracking/peeling at the waist and sleeves to mention and there is evidence of a nameplate removal. An exceptional opportunity for serious WHA/jersey enthusiasts. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
