Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Wonderful white mesh uniform worn by Jimmy Carson during the 1988-89 season, his only full campaign with the Edmonton Oilers. Tagged in the neck by Nike with the "XL" with the added notes "88/89" written in heavy blue marker just below. The Oilers 10th Anniversary patch decorates the right shoulder and "Carson" runs across the nameplate above his number "12". Screened Nike logo on the tail has been covered with a patch of blue mesh, like most shirts from this set, as they were recycled for the following pre-season while the team was under contract with CCM. This one shows lighter game wear with one small team repair on the front and another larger repair on the lower right cuff to go along with a handful of stick marks. Interesting is custom material additions to the left sleeve including widening of the three stripes. The jersey was originally obtained from the famed Wexler collection and comes with the proper documentation from the MeiGray Group.
