Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
A select member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and an integral part of the famous Sabres "French Connection", Gilbert Perreault was certainly a fan favorite in Buffalo. Bold blue style worn by 500-goal scorer Gilbert Perreault during the early 1980s while with the Buffalo Sabres. This example, a type worn in 1981-82 and 1982-83 is made by Sandow and has the maker's double tags in the collar and flaking screened logo in yellow down on the rear outer hem. A canvas and leather loop fight strap is sewn into the tail and two-tone tackle twill number "11's" can be found on the back and again on each upper arm. A knit plate holding single-color lettering spells out "Perreault" on the upper back and we see evidence of a former plate indicating that this plate may have been reattached or may not be original to the jersey. Game wear is easy to spot with scuffs and marks throughout to go with two team repairs on the right sleeve, two more on the left arm and a pair of sewing fixes on the lower front.
