Great pair of 1960s World Series press pins each reflect the ultimate champions of their respective editions of the Fall Classic. The New York Yankees’ famous top hat logo graces the dynastic franchise’s 1962 World Series press pin for games at Yankee Stadium. Led by Mantle, Maris and Ford, the AL champs won Games 3 and 5 at home and split the four games in San Francisco, including a 1-0 win over the Giants in the finale to claim a tight seven-game win for what would prove to be the Yankees’ last World Series win until 1977. Adopted by the Baltimore Orioles in 1966, the team’s cartoon bird logo graced their press pin for their World Series debut that fall. Powered by AL MVP and Triple Crown winner Frank Robinson’s bat, legendary third baseman Brooks Robinson’s glove and the exceptional pitching of Dave McNally and rookie Jim Palmer, the O’s stunned the baseball world, beating Los Angeles aces Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax in the first two games at Dodger Stadium before returning home to complete a four-game sweep capped by a pair of 1-0 wins at Memorial Stadium. Originally obtained from the personal collection of renowned broadcaster Ron Reusch, both of these World Series pins remain in gorgeous condition. Each circular pin measures 1 inch in diameter and has the “Balfour” manufacturer’s stamp on the reverse. Rare finds on their own, this great pair of 1960s World Series press pins make a formidable duo, each with a champion’s pedigree.
